Join us on a Platypus small-group wine tour of the Napa Valley, the Sonoma Valley or the Russian River / Healdsburg wine country! $119 per person ($139 on Saturdays) You’ll visit three charming, back-roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable wineries. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers. Although the winetasting was great, I would have liked to see more of the wine-making process, from grape to bottle. We were able to simply walk through the vineyards, and that was it for most of the time.

The best tour to Napa was not to Corporate Wineries. They all had great wines.

Platypus wine tours have been a memorable experience for my husband and me. Unfortunately, August 11 was different. Platypus`s previous tours included visits to five wineries, a delicious gourmet lunch featuring fresh sandwiches and Ina Garten-quality side salads. The first two wineries were okay. The lunch was a decent boxed meal that was not too memorable. The last wine tasting took place at a vineyard which was under construction and took place in their parking area near the portapotties…really?! Despite all the wonderful vineyard options, Dave Johnson chose this one. Platypus tours were something I recommended to my friends who visited Napa and Sonoma. This is something I am unable to do anymore.

The tour`s quality has declined. It was too long and there was nothing to do for prolonged periods of time. The staff at the wineries were not knowledgeable and did not engage with visitors. At our third and final stop, it felt like we were being inconvenienced.
The bus driver/host was uninteresting and made some questionable comments about politics and other scandalous events.
They used to offer a cheese board at lunch, but they no longer do this. It`s not a big lunch so you might bring a snack or buy one at a winery.
We have been on this tour several times before, when we were looking for new wineries to join.

Bob, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. I would recommend Bob to anyone who is able. The three stops were all close together so it was easy to travel and more time to spend at each place. Platypus tracks our previous visits and takes us to new places every time. They have been used twice before. It was a great day.

Platypus was my second tour and it didn`t disappoint. Sam was great and made the tour enjoyable and informative. It was so much fun to visit small wineries we wouldn`t have discovered on our own. Thank you again for another wonderful Napa tour.

Our Platypus tour was a great success. Mark, our tour guide, was amazing. Mark made us feel at home, explained everything to us and entertained us a bit. Platypus Tours provided a wonderful lunch. Platypus Tours provided a delicious lunch that was a highlight of the weekend. My group reminisced about it as one of their favorite meals. Platypus is a great option for anyone visiting Napa. The shuttle was easily found from Napa`s public parking garage.

It was a great day spent touring the three Napa Vineyards, learning about wine and having a blast! We were met at our hotel, and soon became friends with other guests.
